REACH - RoHs

municom GmbH being a distributor of electronic components, is only minimally affected by the REACH (Registration Evaluation, Athorization and Restrictions of Chemicals)-Regulations. municom is not a manufacturer, downstream user or registrant under Article 3 of the REACH Regulation.

municom GmbH is considered an importer and wholesale dealer according to Article 3, Item 1 of the REACH Regulation. The goods imported by us do not fall under the categories “Substances” or “Preparations” and, thus, are not subject to registration.

A registration, according to Article 7, Item 1 of the REACH Regulation, is obligatory for any substance contained in those articles (goods), if both the following conditions are met:

  1. the substance is present in those articles in quantities totaling over one ton per producer or importer per year,
  2. the substance is intended to be released under normal or reasonable foreseeable conditions to use.

municom does not sell any such products!

municom does have a responsibility to communicate SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern) information down the supply chain as far as this information is made available by  the manufacturer per Article 33 of the REACH regulation.

In this context, we also refer to the RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances) Regulations. It is a directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and components. We confirm that most of the products we sell comply with the requirements of this directive. Products which we are unable to supply RoHS-compliant are explicitly identified as such.

Nearly all manufacturers represented by municom have implemented and maintain environmental programs which in general fulfill the relevant REACH and RoHS requirements. The respective statements can be found on the manufacturers´ Websites. (If required, we will be happy to provide our customers with the corresponding links.)
